TB-500 B2B documentation & quotation checklist
Freeze the TB-500 identity, vial/fill and quantity band, and label evidence scope (Tested Sample vs Batch-Linked) before comparing TB-500 wholesale quotes.
Before you compare TB-500 quotes, confirm that every supplier is quoting the same molecule, the same stated vial/fill and the same evidence scope. “TB-500” is a trade name, and sellers do not always use it for the same thing. Two quotes with the same label can describe different goods, so price is only comparable once identity is written down.
This checklist is for professional B2B buyers building China-side TB-500 sourcing controls. It covers product identity fields, MOQ and lead-time questions, and the COA + HPLC + MS + SDS pack with its evidence scope. It does not cover dosing, end use or benefit claims.
Start with identity: what does “TB-500” mean in this quote?
In the trade, “TB-500” and “Thymosin Beta-4” are used loosely. Some listings use the names for a full-length sequence, others for a shorter fragment, and some switch between the two in the same catalogue. A buyer who does not freeze identity cannot tell whether a lower price reflects a better deal or a different product.
Write these identity fields into the RFQ before you ask for price:
| Identity field | What to write down | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Named product | The name you will use on POs, packing lists and evidence files (e.g. TB-500 as listed on TB500 evidence) | Keeps quotes, labels and evidence indexed to one name |
| Supplier’s stated sequence or description | The sequence, or the supplier’s written description of which form is being quoted | Confirms all suppliers are quoting the same molecule, not just the same label |
| Expected identity result | The identity value the supplier expects the MS panel to report for that form | Lets you check the MS result against something agreed in advance |
| Salt form / counter-ion, if stated | Whatever the supplier’s spec sheet states | Changes how stated content relates to net peptide content |
| Format | Lyophilized vial, bulk powder or other agreed form | Changes cost, handling, labels and which documents apply |
Buyer rule: if a supplier cannot tell you in writing which form its “TB-500” is, treat the quote as incomplete. A matching name is not a matching product.
Spec fields to freeze (product documentation only)
| Spec field | What to write down | Why it matters for quote comparison |
|---|---|---|
| Stated vial / fill | Stated fill as a product documentation field on labels and specs, not a use instruction | Without a fixed fill, unit price has no denominator |
| Packaging / pack-out | Vial size, units per box or carton, label language if relevant | Changes landed cost without appearing in the headline price |
| Commercial label marks | Marks you require on goods, kept separate from lot marks used for Batch-Linked evidence | Keeps packing requirements distinct from laboratory scope |
If two quotes differ on any row above, they are different RFQs. Reconcile the written spec first, then compare price and lead time. For the general freeze that sits under any peptide RFQ, see RFQ checklist for China-side peptide sourcing.
MOQ and lead-time questions (ask for bands, not promises)
Quantity and MOQ
- What is the MOQ for the frozen identity, fill and pack-out, and is it for a first order only or for ongoing supply?
- Can the first-order band be priced separately from a follow-on forecast?
- Which quantity band does the quoted unit price apply to, and what changes at the next band?
Lead time
- What is the planning window for a written quote against the frozen spec and document list?
- Is there a documentary or sample stage before a production commitment, and which documents belong to it?
- Once spec and document scope are agreed, what is the production-lot readiness window? Treat it as a planning window, not a guarantee.
- Which checks must be complete before deposit, before balance and before shipment release? Payment staging is covered in Tie peptide payment milestones to documents and lot evidence.
Do not accept guaranteed ship dates without staged checks, “same as the library PDF” coverage for a larger lot, or statements that goods are cleared, approved or safe for any destination or use. Destination eligibility is a question for your own counsel.
Document checklist and evidence scope
Align the TB-500 quote pack with Peptide documentation package: COA + HPLC + MS + SDS. Document type and evidence scope are separate questions.
| Document | Buyer question it answers | TB-500 note |
|---|---|---|
| COA | What did an independent laboratory report for the submitted material: product, lab, date, panels, results, scope? | Check that the product named on the COA matches the identity you froze. See How to read a peptide COA. |
| MS | Does the measured identity match the agreed form? | For TB-500 this is the key file, because it is where a name mix-up shows up. Compare the reported value with the expected identity result in your RFQ. |
| HPLC | What chromatographic evidence supports the purity panel on the COA? | Supports purity; it does not establish identity, content or fill on its own. |
| SDS | What handling, hazard and transport information belongs in the logistics file? | Not a purity certificate and not identity evidence. |
Evidence scope
- Tested Sample (default): an independent report for the material submitted to the lab. This is how to read the public record on TB500 evidence and in the COA library.
- Batch-Linked: the same kind of report plus recorded lot correspondence to the sales lot under discussion. It is confirmed per order, not assumed from a product name, a fill match or a verbal “same batch” claim.
A Tested Sample report does not prove a future production lot or every unit in a shipment. Full definitions: Tested Sample vs Batch-Linked COA. If you plan to test a delivered unit yourself, see Testing a peptide order yourself.
One-page TB-500 quote-pack checklist
- Named product plus the supplier’s written statement of which form is quoted.
- Expected identity result agreed in advance for the MS panel.
- Format, stated vial/fill and pack-out.
- Quantity band and which band this quote prices.
- Destination country and the paperwork constraints you already know.
- Documents named: COA, MS, HPLC, SDS.
- Evidence scope labelled: Tested Sample, or a Batch-Linked path only if lot marks will be recorded for this order.
- Lead-time stages and payment gates tied to completed checks.
Red flags in TB-500 quote packs
| Red flag | Why it breaks comparison | What to request instead |
|---|---|---|
| “TB-500” with no sequence or form stated | You may be comparing different molecules | Written statement of the form quoted |
| MS result that does not match the agreed form | Identity is not the product you priced | Clarification and a matching report before payment |
| COA names “Thymosin Beta-4” while the quote says “TB-500” (or the reverse) | The naming gap may hide a different form | Supplier confirmation tying the COA product to the quoted form |
| Price with no fill, pack-out or quantity band | Unit price has no denominator | Written fill, pack-out and band |
| “COA available” with no scope label | Sample scope and lot scope get collapsed | Explicit Tested Sample or Batch-Linked wording |
| Seller PDF with no lab name, date or report ID | Cannot be matched to this RFQ | Independent report identifiers |
| SDS offered as proof of purity | An SDS is a handling document | Keep SDS on the logistics track |
| Clearance, approval or “safe for use” language | Outside sourcing scope and a compliance risk | Operational destination details only |

FAQ
Why do TB-500 quotes need an identity check before price comparison?
Because “TB-500” is used loosely in the trade. Unless each supplier states in writing which form it is quoting, two quotes with the same name can describe different products.
Which document shows whether the TB-500 form matches?
The MS report. Agree the expected identity result in the RFQ, then compare the reported value with it. HPLC supports purity but does not establish identity on its own.
Is the public TB-500 COA Tested Sample or Batch-Linked?
The public record on TB500 evidence is Tested Sample. Batch-Linked correspondence is confirmed per order when lot marks are recorded.
Does an SDS prove TB-500 purity or identity?
No. An SDS belongs in the handling and shipping file.
Does a complimentary review mean BatchVerity approves my TB-500 goods?
No. It is scoping help for your written spec and document list, not approval, clearance or regulatory advice.
